Histories and Herstories Experienced by Bus
Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture
Struggle, needlework and roses
What political demands were brought to the streets of Linz, and when? How were these inscribed into the city itself? Taking the history of textile work in Linz as a point of departure, trafo.K and students of the College of Education of the Diocese Linz took a closer look at the reality of women's workdays. Together, they began to search for things that are marginalized and hardly ever mentioned in the public eye, on the street, at work, as well as in training and education. Struggles, needlework and roses, working at home … factory work ... piece work … different feminized and invisible areas of work within the history of the textile industry are taken as a point of departure for a tour that discusses the history of feminist struggles and alternative forms of production in Linz.
In cooperation with the College of Education of the Diocese Linz, artist Dagmar Höss, scholar Elke Gaugele and dramaturge Marty Huber.
